Born in the Netherlands (1954), Yolande Slotboom spent her childhood in Brussels, Belgium, where she attended the European School. She graduated in 1974 with a Baccalauréat Européen. She holds a Masters degree in neuropsychology, clinical psychology and developmental psychology from the University of Groningen and worked as research assistant at Tilburg University in the Netherlands.
Yolande lived in Taiwan R.O.C. for five years. During this time she also travelled extensively throughout East & South East Asia. After settling back in the Netherlands she started to work for the Royal Tropical Institute in Amsterdam (1997), as an intercultural trainer specialising in intercultural communication, expatriate and management issues with a special interest in South East Asia, China and the EU.
She joined the itim group in 2000, based in the Netherlands. Since then she has worked for clients such as Philips, KLM, ABN Amro, the Netherlands Institute of International Relations Clingendael, Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management (V&W) and Europol.
As well as being a trainer/consultant, Yolande is also an accredited intercultural assessor. She develops and executes intercultural assessment centres for international organisations and companies, with the aim of exploring with the candidates their full potential when working in the international realm and developing their intercultural competencies.
In addition to her native Dutch language, Yolande is fluent in French, English and German.
She is MBTI accredited.
