Nieko van Veen


Nieko van Veen is a Dutchman. He lives in Driebergen (UT) with his wife and two kids. He studied international marketing management and got his bachelor degree at the Hogeschool of Utrecht. Afterwards he studied culture, organization and management at the VU in Amsterdam. He obtained his master’s degree in social science. Nieko specialized as an interim-manager in various positions and interventions for cultural change. During his academic study he started his career in logistics as an account-manager for a worldwide courier-serviceprovider. In 1998 Nieko took the opportunity to get involved into change-implementation services at Pentascope, a management- and training consultancy. On behalf of this firm he accompanied many business process (redesign) changes at large financial, logistic and not for profit organizations. After 5 years Nieko changed jobs and went to Nuon to set up an management development programme aimed at teammanagers. Subsequently Quintis (management consultancy in Public Housing and Care) asked Nieko to put new energy in a marketing business unit and take responsibility for improving overall sales and marketing results. After 3 years he made up his mind and started his own business Ontwikkelkracht. Acting as an interim manager he met Ideas4 to which he committed himself as a franchisee in November 2009. On behalf of Ideas4 he will work in the field of organizational culture consultancy. Besides examining the (sub)culture gaps by means of the Hofstede model, he will help tot bridge these eventual gaps in many different ways. His strengths are sharp analytical skills and valuable knowledge and experience in the art of implementing cultural interventions at tactical and operational level.
